A little about me
I am an LMT who has been exploring the form and function of the human body since childhood. Through this exploration, I have spent over 20 years in the martial arts with a heavy emphasis on Taiji (Tai Chi). It was here that I first encountered an approach to physicality that emphasized gentleness, refinement of technique, and “listening” (in Taiji terminology, this is referred to as “ting jin” or “listening energy”) to one’s own body as the primary methods and ideals of practice. Over time, I found my way to bodywork, and eventually to the methods of the Barral Institute, where I quickly developed a deep passion for studying anatomy and for yet another expression of the beautiful art of listening.
My sessions begin with a thorough verbal and physical assessment to understand how we can work together most effectively and efficiently. As we focus on the tissues and structures that are currently having the most significant mechanical impact on your system, I then listen to and follow the lines of tension, methodically releasing any impingements to restore the body to its homeostatic state.
Depending on our assessment, I may work on neural, vascular, visceral, and/or connective tissues (muscle, fascia, ligaments and tendons).
